Immigrating Youth Texas (IYT) is community-rooted and built from urgency. We exist to protect displaced and marginalized youth especially those failed by today’s immigration system and to rewrite their future with dignity, healing, and power.
We are loud. We are intentional. And we’re building a sanctuary for youth that this world hasn’t yet imagined.
Your support directly fuels:
- Free, community events like our monthly vigils, citywide protests, and our monthly IYT Run Club gatherings that demand change, build awareness, and hold space for healing and visibility.
- Mutual aid and back-to-school drives that provide school supplies, clear backpacks, hygiene kits, and access to preventive care for underserved families across Houston.
- Partnerships with schools and grassroots orgs, especially those hit hardest by funding cuts, to ensure our resources go directly to the youth who need them most.
- Cultural and creative fundraisers including DJ and coffee events, art shows, and community experiences designed to raise capital for our first permanent shelter and grow the coalition behind it.
- Upcoming children’s programming and youth-centered events that offer joy, education, and protection in spaces too often denied to them.
- Development of a digital knowledge hub, where we’ll publish accessible educational materials, organizing tools, and resources to empower youth and allies alike.
- A permanent sanctuary space, where displaced youth will have access to mental health support, healing-centered programs, community care, and most importantly a place to belong.
- Youth stipends and future leadership opportunities, because we believe young people deserve to be compensated and honored for their time, their courage, and their emotional labor.
