WHO WE ARE + WHAT WE DO
Immigrating Youth Texas was built on the belief that no single organization can meet the challenges facing immigrant children and families alone. Our role is to bring people together. We connect impacted families, community organizations, communities, educators, local businesses, volunteers, advocates, and neighbors and turn our collective resources into action. Together, we organize. We educate. We mobilize. We provide support. We amplify impacted voices. We build networks of care. & when our communities need us, we show up. Our work ranges from supporting children and families and organizing community actions to challenging family detention, creating educational resources, building coalitions, and working toward long term community solutions. Because this work doesn't belong to one organization.
It belongs to all of us.

We believe lasting change is collective. We bring together communities, organizations, businesses, educators, volunteers, and advocates through actions, vigils, art builds, educational events, mutual support, and grassroots mobilization. By building relationships across communities and cities, we create stronger networks that can respond when our communities need us and build solutions that last.

Immigrant children, families, and people directly impacted by immigration policies remain at the center of our work. We connect families with community resources and support, make complex issues accessible, amplify impacted voices, and create opportunities for those closest to these issues to be heard in the conversations and decisions affecting their lives. Their safety, dignity, experiences, and futures guide why we organize.

We remain accountable. We build for the future.
Community trust is essential to everything we do. We prioritize physical, emotional, and digital safety while remaining transparent about our work, partnerships, goals, and the resources entrusted to us. And we aren't only responding to today's crises. We're working toward sustainable community infrastructure including our long term goal of establishing a community funded children's shelter in Houston.
